Molecular and Neurobiology of Temperature Homeostasis:
Circadian rhythms, Sleep, Sensory experience, Metabolism, and Aging

The goal of my lab is to understand the molecular and neural mechanisms that underlie temperature homeostasis. The proper setting of temperature homeostasis is essential for animal survival and a healthy life. Using Drosophila and mouse models, we apply a combination of genetic, behavioral, optogenetic, and physiological approaches to learn how temperature homeostasis is controlled and how temperature homeostasis coordinates and integrates with circadian rhythms, sleep, metabolism, sensory experience, and aging.
